  this is literally hot off the press as in from about half an hour ago.. we have a friend from nz (who is wavering and knows our situation) and he is on holiday in japan at the moment.

  today there was a zone overseer talk that he went to in nagoya (southern japan) and it has just finished up.

  straight after the song and still in the stadium he emailed us the info below.

  I became agnostic and then atheist because there simply isn't any solid evidence that a god exists. He or "it" doesn't seem to interact with our world as we don't have any sound evidence of god interfering in world events and we have no way to reliably test or prove his existence. All we seem to have are ancient writings that deal with the idea of god and his alleged interactions with his chosen people in the Bible. Yet, scholars show that the Bible has changed quite a bit and we don't even have any...ANY...of the original manuscripts, only old copies that are much older than the originals.

  Even if the Bible hasn't changed drastically in meaning from what its original authors intended, why should we take their word for it? Because they are telling us they saw supernatural events? Because they allegedly spoke with God himself? Again, there is no way to prove that this is true other than by taking their word for it; this is not belief based on sound evidence, and is subject to much scrutiny and leaves many unanswered questions.

  i am 3rd gen born in but have been inactive for a few years but always had the intention to make another go of the truth, but not now that i know ttatt.

  i became inactive due to the inhumane treatment from family members who are elders.

  i have been seeing problems in the org for a couple of years now and could not come up with any answers.

  recently i researched the topics of mediator and new covenant and thats when the sh8t hit the fan.

  Do not bring up doctrinal issues in front of your wife (or any other JW) for the time being. Also, I will echo ruderedhead's advice: Contact a good divorce lawyer without alerting your wife. It may sound drastic but if your wife would really be willing to take your children over this, you need to be prepared for the worst.
